Bio:

Dr. Mazyar Seraj is a researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the University of Bremen, Germany where he received his “Dr.-Ing.” title. During his Ph.D., he conducted research that was mostly dedicated to finding out the impacts of visual block-based programming environments on young learners’ motivation to study computer science and the acquisition of programming skills in the context of smart objects and environments. Before joining the University of Bremen and DFKI, he studied his master’s degree at Multimedia University (MMU) and worked as a lecturer at LUCT, Malaysia. He is currently working in the area of Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science Education. He is a member of ACM as well as a regular reviewer for ACM Special Interest Group on CS Education. His research interests are in the area of Computer Science Education, Visual Programming, Physical Computing, HCI, Interactive Educational Systems, and Software Engineering.
