After working in the software industry as a developer, Ann Barcomb returned to university to take an MSc in Information Systems at Maastricht University. She is pursuing a PhD at Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre at the University of Limerick (anticipated completion: June 2019). Barcomb works as a post-doctoral researcher at the Open Source Research Group, at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuernberg). Her research is characterized by a desire to understand and generalize processes and practices within free/libre/open source software communities, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between practitioners.
